CREF Annual Meeting and TIAA Advisory Vote Information

TIAA Advisory Vote and CREF Elections
Mailing of the CREF proxy statement and TIAA advisory vote materials to participants begins on June 12 and June 14, respectively. You must have been a participant as of the record date, May 31, 2008, in order to vote.

Participants who have previously registered their preference for electronic delivery will not receive the materials by mail. If you would like to receive future proxy solicitations and voting materials by email, log in to your account to update your profile.

Four Ways to Vote

You can vote in one of the following four ways. Regardless of your voting method, your vote is confidential. All votes cast by Internet, phone or mail must be received by noon (ET) on July 15.

• By logging on to the Internet site shown on your proxy card and following the instructions. Have your proxy card at hand.
• By calling the toll-free number on your proxy card and following the recorded instructions. Have your proxy card at hand.
• By marking, signing and mailing the proxy card in the postage-paid envelope provided.
• By attending the meeting. You must be a CREF participant of record as of May 31, 2008, to attend the annual meeting. If you plan to attend, please call 1 877 535-3910, ext. 2440 to obtain an admission pass. Government-issued picture identification is required to enter the CREF annual meeting. Please note that no laptop computers, recording equipment or cameras will be permitted in the meeting hall.

CREF Annual Meeting
CREF will hold its annual meeting of participants on July 15, 2008, at 9:30 a.m. (MT) at the Colorado Convention Center, 700 14th Street, Denver, Colorado, which is home to one of the company's major regional offices.

Please note that there will be no provisions for checking bags and packages; therefore, meeting attendees should refrain from carrying oversized items as they will not be permitted into the meeting space.
